Man charged with sexually assaulting woman in Gastonia T.J. Maxx

Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a popular retail store in Gastonia.

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. – Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman inside a popular retail store in Gastonia.

According to Gastonia Police, the incident happened at T.J. Maxx in Gastonia in January. The victim told NBC Charlotte that she was in the pet section of the store when the suspect, Robert Lee Miller, attacked her.

“It’s kind of disgusting he would think about doing something like that to a woman,” the victim said. “It’s kind of a disgrace to the woman population.”

Miller was being held under a $100,000 bond, police said.

NBC Charlotte learned that Miller was convicted of secret peeping at a Huntersville Target in 2012. Miller was banned from the property.

NBC Charlotte reached out to Target, but they did not have a comment.
