Deputies: Lincolnton man shoots roommate in the hand with a .22 caliber rifle following argument

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — An argument between room-mates ended up with one of the men being shot in the hand and the other charged in the shooting, the Lincolnton County Sheriff's Office reports. 

According to deputies, the shooting happened in the 4700 block of Lama Lane on January 12. 

Deputies report 61-year-old Eugenio Salgado Cabrera had asked his roommate, Oscar Aguilera, to turn the music down and Aguilera refused. 

That's when deputies said Cabrera went into a bedroom and got a .22 caliber rifle and shot Aguilera striking him in the wrist.  

Cabrera was taken into custody without incident. Cabrera was charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $9,000 secured bond. 

Aguilera was treated at CHS-Lincoln and released.
