Salisbury firefighters tackle 4-alarm fire

Crews battled a 4-alarm blaze at an apartment complex on Sunday.

SALISBURY, N.C. — An investigation is underway to determine what caused a four-alarm apartment fire in Salisbury on Sunday, officials said.

The fire started just after noon at a three-story apartment building on Hamilton Drive, which is near Jake Alexander Boulevard. Firefighters arrived on the scene to heavy smoke and flames coming from the building.

The fire was quickly upgraded to four alarms after crews arrived and realized how large the fire was. Multiple units from Rowan County and the city of Kannapolis were dispatched to help put out the fire.

No one was hurt during the incident, officials said.
