CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A stretch of the Interstate 485 Outer Loop is backed up in west Charlotte due to a vehicle fire.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at mile marker 7, just before the exit for West Boulevard. NCDOT's traffic map said drivers could expect delays in the area until around 10:30 a.m.
A WCNC Charlotte viewer photo showed a Steele Creek fire engine on the scene with multiple firefighters around a large cloud of smoke.
It's unclear if anyone was hurt during the incident. WCNC Charlotte has reached out to Medic for more information.
