CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tradesha Woodard was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, also known as the Barbeque Capital of the World!
Since the age of 3, Tradesha has always loved reading, writing and storytelling. After graduating high school, she was motivated to use her voice to make a difference.
She attended Middle Tennessee State University, earning her bachelor's in Multimedia Journalism.
During her time at MTSU, she interned at WKRN in Nashville Tennessee, served as a member of The National Association of Black Journalists, as well as a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She has worked as a production assistant at Fox13 in Memphis, a multimedia journalist in Augusta, Georgia, and now she couldn’t be more excited to join the WCNC Charlotte team in the Queen City!
Tradesha said her mission is to not only provide you with accurate information but to also build trust which strengthens relationships, improves journalism and enhances knowledge about what's happening around us. She will prioritize authentic and clear information, and she encourages you to follow her on all social media platforms to get to know her on and off camera.
One of her proudest accomplishments includes writing her very first children's book, "The Purple Turtle," which highlights mental health and self love.
When Tradesha is not at work, you can find her at different restaurants trying new foods, shopping in different stores, or getting some fresh air at a dog park with her puppy Blu.
