$100 bills will be hidden around Charlotte Wednesday. Here's how to find them

Hey Charlotte, are you ready to win some free cash? No strings attached?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — EDITORS NOTE: The final coordinates were posted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, and all coordinates have been found as of 8:17 p.m. There are no additional $100 bills hidden in connection to the treasure hunt.

Hey Charlotte, are you ready to win some free cash? No strings attached?

No, really. Stay with me here.

A Pineville Escape Room, Breakout Games, is giving Charlotteans the option to participate in a real-life treasure hunt. All ages welcome.

HOW TO PLAY

Breakout Games gave away $2,000 in cash as they hid $100 bills throughout Charlotte. Their website had constant information from 5-8 p.m. on July 10 as they released the coordinates of each bill. All you had to do is be the first to each spot and find the hidden cash.

Every half hour from 5-8 p.m., Breakout Games will hide three $100 bills in an unknown location -- except for 6:30 p.m. which will only have two $100 bills hidden. According to the Breakout Games Facebook page, the money will be hidden in Midtown and Uptown Charlotte.

In order to have the safest event possible, the organizers asked everyone to park their car and take the hunt on foot. The coordinates are within walking distance so bring your tennis shoes and get ready.

In order to participate in the hunt, participants needed to continuously check the Breakout games Facebook page and website for up-to-date coordinates.

You can also text CHARLOTTEHUNT to 31996 right now to get a reminder sent to your phone before the hunt begins.

Once you win the cash, you don't have to do anything else -- finders keepers style.

Good luck!
