CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Our next guest, Heidi Billotto loves food and travel and is here to share more on a very special chef showdown that features North Carolina chefs from across the state. We're talking about the "Annual N-C-R-L-A Chef Showdown." The Annual NCRLA Chef Showdown Grand Finale is coming up Aug 26, and this year it takes place in Durham at Bay 7 from 6-8:30 pm. Proceeds go to benefit the NCRLA (North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association) in General and the NC Hospitality Industry in Particular. “ We started the season in March with 84 contestants ( chefs, pastry chefs, mixologists and Distilleries from across the state” says Billotto. She adds “after 11 rounds of preliminary and semifinal culinary and mixology competition, 20 chefs and 6 mixologist have made it to the Grand Finale and 6 of those finalists are from the Charlotte area.” The Grand Finale is the only Chef Showdown event that is open to the public. What's at stake? The Coveted titles of 2024 NCRLA Chef of the Year, Pastry Chef of the Year, Mixologist of the Year, Distillery of the Year and Mocktail of the Year. Get your tickets soon!
