CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club is the place to be this week in Charlotte NC.
Not only can patrons enjoy an awesome competition at the PGA event, they can also enjoy the fun additional events like the Celebrity Putting Challenge. Last year’s celebrity winner was Carolina Panthers stand out Tight End, Wesley Walls.
Walls won again this year at the celebrity $100k Putting Challenge. The winnings split between the winning celebrity charity of choice and Levine Children's Hospital. On Monday, there were a number of well-known celebrities from the community that participated in the Putting Challenge representing various charities. Here are just a few:
Greg Olsen - former Carolina Panther and current NFL Broadcaster representing the HEARTest Yard. The HEARTest Yard is a program that provides in-home nursing support for children and families as they transition from the hospital to their home.
Jonathan Stewart - former Carolina Panther Running Back playing for FRAG – The First Responders Action Group is committed to supporting the heroes of our communities—first responders and Veterans. FRAG’s mission is to provide unwavering assistance, resources, and advocacy to meet the unique and evolving needs of those who selflessly serve and protect us.
LuKe Kuechly – former All Pro Linebacker for the Carolina Panthers playing for Project Life Movement. Project Life Movement’s mission is to save lives and cure diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma and sickle cell disease by growing the number of potential bone marrow and stem cell donors on the global registry.
Kristi Coleman - President of The Carolina Panthers playing for Classroom Central. Classroom Central's Mission is to foster equity in education by providing teachers and students with the free resources they need to succeed.
