CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Today our musical spotlight features electric accordionist and songwriter Joe Murgo. Joining us is Joe Murgo, to talk about his journey and his current project.
“My goal is to combine stick-in-your-head melodies with cool story-based lyrics to create great songs… all wrapped in a positive vibe which lifts the spirit, stimulates the emotion and elevates the blood flow” says Murgo. He adds “my music journey began as a 10-year kid growing up in Rhode Island, when my sweet mother, Theresa, made me take accordion lessons.” “But after I discovered I could amplify my rig and plug into a big ol’ Fender Bassman, that was it, I was all in, quickly learning the amazing tracks of the day by The British Invasion bands, Chicago, Doobies, Boston, etc. - and rocking my parents out of the house!”
The First song written was name Liberty Rising inspired by what our country was going through at the time. My latest project is called Southern Comfort Inn. It’s a song that someone famous like Darius Rucker or Blake Shelton can easily sing and make it a hit. “My meticulously hand-crafted tracks are available now to be enjoyed by millions all over the planet, the galaxy, the universe” says Murgo. You can find Southern Comfort Inn on Spotify or JoeLMurgoMusic.com.
