CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Our music spotlight today featured Charlotte based singer. songwriter Lisa De Novo.
Lisa sharing with Eugene, she began singing at a very young age in church, writing her first song at the age of 10, and had 3 albums handwritten in journals. When it comes to guitar, she started playing base guitar in her church at 17, then picked up acoustic guitar at 18.
It seems performing, and love for music were in her blood, she started performing at community outreach programs through music, drama, and dance, then branched out to open mics and solo gigs. “I've been in love with music for as long as I can remember. I tried out different career paths, but the only thing that felt right for me was music. Music is a powerful thing. It allows you to get things off your chest while connecting with others on a very deep level.”
She calls her music Bubblegum Blues, describing it as an eclectic blend of catchy pop music and soulful blues music. Lisa’s influences include Amy Winehouse, Florence, the Machine, and Coldplay. In October 2016, she released her first solo EP the Stars Align - now available on iTunes and Spotify.
She has done several electronic dance music collaborations with DJ’s all over the world. The songs have more than 300,000 hits on YouTube. Her latest CD is called The Big Bang.
Today in the Charlotte Today spotlight she shared her new song "Carolina."
Carolina will be out officially in the month of December 2024. You can find Lisa the first Wednesday, every month at Goldies - where she and her friends take part in Rockstars In The Round.
