This morning in our education spotlight - we're talking E-C-P-I. Joining us today is campus president, Roger Rocha.
ECPI was founded in 1966. At that time they were training people in the "new field" of computers but now there reach is even greater..
“We are a career focused university, our programs are focused on helping people get trained fast, so they can enter the workforce" says Rocha.
ECPI offers programs in: Technology, Nursing, the Medical Assistant field, and more. Rocha sharing: "we are an alternative for people who have been out of school for a few years, or want to focus their education in a specific area, and who may need a time sensitive option to graduate.
ECPI University is unique in many ways:
- ECPI University prioritizes hands-on learning to equip students with the skills and confidence they will need in their career
- ECPI’s generous use of technology and labs, like high-fidelity simulations, and virtual environments aid students learning and best practices, and provide confidence by mimicking real-world medical scenarios.
- ECPI University utilizes a year-round schedule instead of the traditional 4-year university calendar year, so students can earn a degree faster. (With our ADN programs, students can graduate in as little as 18 Months.) Class schedules start every 5 weeks
- The University also does not utilize “wait lists” for new students.
ECPI University just celebrated National Nurses Week for the third year in a row. ECPI University celebrated national nurse’s week honoring past and future nurses, current students, and nursing faculty. The University made available $55,000 in nursing scholarships to students for nurses’ week. Rocha telling us "we understand the critical role nurses play in this market and across the healthcare industry. With thousands of nursing graduates, ECPI University has nursing programs – In Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas. We appreciate, respect, and strive to match the dedication and compassion nurses bring to their profession through our educational offerings”. He adds “not only do we educate nurses, but we employ nursing faculty, and work alongside our nursing employer partners who sit on ECPI’s advisory boards.” For more information on ECPI’s programs visit www.ecpi.edu.
