CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The NASCAR Hall of Fame honors the history and heritage of NASCAR. The high-tech venue, designed to educate and entertain race fans and non-fans alike and explore 75 Years of NASCAR History. On the show today, we caught up with Senior Director of Museum Affairs, Kevin Schlesier.
“We tell the story of the history of NASCAR, where it came from, but we also tell the story of what the sport is now,” says Schlesier. He adds “we have 3 floors of exhibits and thousands of artifacts and dozens of cars here at the NASCAR Hall of Fame. We want the public to come out an enjoy the beauty of NASCAR.”

NASCAR 75: Moments and Memories
Celebrating the stories history of NASCAR, the Great Hall exhibit provides a well-rounded look into the sport’s storied past and includes 10 themes, six told through cars and four told through artifact cases. A limited run display celebrating NASCAR’s 75th Anniversary, the six vehicle themes are Racing on the Beach, Innovation Drives the Sport, The American Sport, NASCAR’s Family Heritage, Thank You Fans and Celebration of Champions. Additionally, the four artifact case themes are Founding, Military, Past Tracks and Diversity. This exhibit will remain on view through November 2023.
Glory Road: 75 Years
Curated to reflect NASCAR’s rich, deep and wide 75-year history, the fifth rendition of Glory Road features 19 cars for the first time. A wide range of cars were assembled from different eras and series to tell the various facets of NASCAR’s 75-year history, creating one of the most eclectic collections ever placed on Glory Road. While some cars represent the constant competition evolution of the sport, including tracks and car innovation and the expansion of NASCAR to an international stage, other cars highlight the people who make it all come together, including driver and owner career arcs, family traditions, owners and crew chiefs. The exhibit celebrates the formation of NASCAR, which took place on December 14, 1947.
Martinsville Speedway’s 75th Anniversary Exhibit
The NASCAR Hall of Fame and NASCAR partnered to recognize the history and legacy of the Martinsville Speedway track with a special exhibit in the Hall’s “Inside NASCAR” display area. The first-ever exhibit honoring a track’s historic anniversary, along with its impact and contributions in the history of NASCAR, features photos from the track’s earliest days in 1947 and through the decades to today. There are trophies, helmets, programs, awards and, of course, two Martinsville traditions: the Ridgeway Grandfather Clock trophy and Jesse Jones hot dogs.
Hall of Honor
The Hall of Honor is the heart and soul of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Enshrinement in the Hall of Honor marks the pinnacle of a career. Walk through this hallowed Hall and stand in awe of the contributions these Legends have made to our beloved sport.
Visitors to the Hall can explore artifacts and hands-on exhibits for a multi-sensory immersive experience. The goal of the facility is to honor NASCAR icons and create an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present and future.
