CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Today is the first day of early voting here in North Carolina! If you are wanting to skip those long lines, this is definitely a great opportunity for you!
Justin Taylor from Goodwill joins us to talk about their early voting location! In partnership with the Mecklenburg County Board of Election, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is pleased to announce for the first time its Goodwill Opportunity Campus on Wilkinson Boulevard will serve as an early voting site this election season. This location will enhance voting access for West Charlotte residents and help ensure a smooth process during the upcoming election. The site will be open from October 17 to November 2, emphasizing Goodwill's commitment to fostering civic engagement and making voting accessible to the community. The site will provide increased voting access for West Charlotte residents and foster civic engagement in the community. This new voting site reflects Goodwill's commitment to being a community partner and ensuring voting accessibility for residents.
Goodwill has always been an agent of goodwill in the community. “The voting site goes along with our mission of service” says Taylor. He adds “Goodwill is known for helping people find work.” That was the focus of the mission statement 50 years ago. But a lot has changed since then, and what we do goes far beyond employment. Over the years, we adapted our services to meet the evolving needs of our community. Our purpose shifted to helping people see possibilities, seize opportunities and prosper. And as our aspirations have grown, we believe our mission, vision and values should grow with us. Here are the voting details:
