Halloween candy & fears

Halloween is big scary business!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — We all know trick-or-treaters have the most fun when they are out hunting for candy.  Today we're learning just how much money people are expected to spend on *buying that candy. "The National Retail Federation's" annual Halloween consumer survey found that the total Halloween spending in 2024 is expected to reach $11.6 billion.   According to business insiders.... about '3 point 5 billion of that is on candy.'

Moreover, stepping away from candy but sticking with a "spooky season theme" - a new survey is breaking down Americans’ biggest fears by state.
Here in the Carolinas  it seems people are most afraid of snakes.  Most states found the thought of death to be the biggest scare this Halloween, followed by heights and in at least four states - "public speaking" was the scariest thing they could think of!
