For as long as she can remember, Mia Atkins our Charlotte Today co-host has loved reading! Starting today she helped launch our very own book club, CT Chapter Chasers!
Here's how it works.
Each month we'll have a book that will be shared on the show and on social media. Then it's time to get reading! Every Monday we will check back in, chat online, and then after a month we will share some of our viewer's thoughts on the show! Then it's time to share the next book to read.
We will also have an interview each month with someone in the community who writes, reads, or has special insight to share.
Our first CT Chapter Chasers book is 'First Lie Wins' by Ashley Elston. This book has been wildly popular online, and was even Reese Witherspoon's book club pick!
The idea is this: Evie Porter is a con artist going town to town with an assignment from her mysterious boss. She learns everything about the town she's sent to, and is given a target person in this town. When her past starts to catch up with her, will she be able to stay undetected?
Keep an eye on the Charlotte Today Instagram and Facebook pages to keep up with the discussion, and check back next month to see what other viewers thought of 'First Lie Wins' and to find out the next book we are reading!
If you are new to reading and want some great resources, The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has you covered. Reading can be an expensive hobby, but Libby and Hoopla are free resources for reading digital titles and listening to audiobooks.
The library also has new book club kits at Matthews and Steele Creek locations. It can hard to get 10 copies of the same book for a whole group. So the library now has their book club kits, with 10 copies of the same book to check out for your group, along with resources for discussion. They also have 40+ book clubs hosted by various library locations.

From what’s trending to local restaurants, events and entertainment, you’ll find it all on this show.
