Lunch and Lead – helping Veterans Bridge Home

Veterans Bridge Home helping veterans with compassion

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Veterans Bridge Home connects Veterans and their families, in any state of transition, to the community. Here with more on the Luncheon and Lead event for VBH is Former NFL Head Coach and current NFL Analyst and strong supporter of VBH, Ron Rivera. “VBH is the one-stop shop for Veterans in the Carolinas and the surrounding communities experiencing transition” says Rivera.  After the regimen and sacrifice of military duty, transition to civilian life can be challenging as Veterans reunite with their families, pursue a new profession, locate services which were all on base, and build a social network. In some cases, they also recover from wounds and also pursue further education.  He adds “without VBH, the civilian community can feel overwhelming and confusing to a Veteran just leaving the armed forces.” With VBH, Veterans in transition have a single point of contact to help navigate this very important life event, with compassion and without the stressor and pressures of life. “I have always been a proponent of veterans because of my dad was in Viet Nam and in Korea serving our country for 32 years” says Rivera. “I’m proud of my dad and he was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 4 and has serve our country with honor.” “We moved a lot and I know first hand how families can feel displaced.”

The number of Veteran and Military families VBH connects and serves continues to grow each year, highlighting the need in our community. VBH continues to lead the community towards making Charlotte a national model of public-private partnerships that assist in transitioning our nation's returning Veterans. This October 2nd the Lunch and Lead will be taking place at The Revelry starting at 11:30am. The ticket sells t help raises money for VBH. For more information visit veteransbridgehome.org.
