CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Anxiety is a very common emotion for so many but it can be hard to understand and manage. Licensed mental health therapist Madina Alam joined Charlotte Today to talk about ways to find motivation and things to do to manage anxiety.
Madina Alam is a licensed mental health counselor in the states of NY and NC specializing in anxiety related disorders. She is also a director of Therapist engagement where she studies the lifespan of a therapist in order to help keep them in the field, and she is also a certified yoga instructor. Previously she has helped train and onboard therapists who are new to therapy.
She is passionate about helping people lean into uncertainty and discomfort because she is a firm believer that so many mental health issues arise, not because of what happens to us, but because we are responding to those events in an unproductive manner.
