Mia went to the Cookies for Kid's Cancer 'Cookies, Cocktails & Canapés' event last night!

They raised record breaking funds, at more than $420,000 and donations are still rolling in!

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Thursday night, Charlotte Today host Mia Atkins went to the Cookies for Kid's Cancer fundraising event 'Cookies, Cocktails & Canapés.'

Anne Steppe, Chair of the Cookies, Cocktails, and Canapés event (the recent guest on Charlotte Today), shared the inspiring story of her son, Cody. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Cody is now a "tough cookie" survivor, with a special thanks to the support his family received from Cookies For Kids' Cancer. The Good Cookie of the Year prestigious award was presented to Chef Brittany Cochran, Executive Chef at Stagioni.

This year had record-breaking fundraising! The event raised over $420,000 for Cookies For Kids' Cancer, with donations still coming in. If you would like to get involved with this organization, head to their website cookiesforkidscancer.org for more.
