With the holiday season in full swing... this morning we explored the connection between consumer buying habits and corporate commitment to sustainability.

A new consumer survey finds that Americans are more likely to throw their support, and their money behind companies engaged in climate action, including urban tree plantings and large-scale reforestation projects.

Today we were joined by Dan Lambe CEO, for the non-profit Arbor Day Foundation.

The Arbor Day Foundation is a international nonprofit organization, an organization that plant more trees around the world than any other group.

Lambe tells us: "The Arbor Day Foundation believes trees are more important today than ever before and they know that companies and corporations play an instrumental role in our current climate crisis. Both how they run their business and how they leverage their influence and resources."

The new survey we discussed according to Lambe also shows that's important to consumers and that they are paying attention, and often guide their buying decisions based on practicing of companies or businesses.

The survey found a link between consumer loyalty and environmental responsibility. More than 80% of Americans believe that corporations have a responsibility,  to be taking action in the climate crisis and to take action. 70% of Americans are more loyal to a company that has strong sustainability practices. Over half of Americans also send they were willing to pay more for products, for companies that are doing good work to protect the environment, planet, and people who live here.

The Arbor Day Foundation works with hundreds of corp. partners looking to meet sustainability goals..by planting trees.
