CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This October, Sixty Vines is serving up a playful twist on traditional wine tastings with rotating wine flights perfectly paired with everyone's favorite Halloween candies! From chocolate to fruity and sour treats, each week will feature a different wine varietal for guests to savor.
Week 1, from October 1 to the 6, they’ll be pairing Sauvignon Blanc with some fruity and tangy candies. For example, they have a Sauvignon Blanc paired with Peachie O's. The Honig Sauvignon Blanc is paired with Nerds Rope Clusters, and the Sinegal ‘Details’ Sauvignon Blanc is matched with Yellow Starburst. It’s a fun twist on the bright, zesty flavors of this wine.
Week 2, Pinot Noir runs from October 7 to the 13. It’s perfect with a mix of chocolate and chewy candies. They’re pairing Adelsheim Pinot Noir with Twizzlers, Au Bon Climat Pinot Noir with Twix, and Diseño Pinot Noir with Airheads. Each one brings out different elements of the wine — it’s a really interesting flavor journey.
Week 3 is all about Rosé, which will run from October 14 to the 20. They’re keeping it light and fruity with fun candies like Swedish Fish paired with M. Chapoutier Belleruche, Gummy Bears paired with DAOU Discovery, and Starburst matched with Diseño Rosé.
To wrap up the month, from October 21 to Halloween, they’re featuring Cabernet Sauvignon, which pairs beautifully with richer candies. They have the J Bookwalter ‘Notebook’ Cabernet Sauvignon paired with Peanut M&Ms, Oberon with Snickers, and Martin Ray ‘Synthesis’ Cabernet Sauvignon with Almond Joy.
