Arts+ is hosting a free Spring Festival at its new Plaza Presbyterian Church property in Plaza Midwood on Saturday. The nonprofit will welcome the community to its future home at 2304 The Plaza with a free Spring Festival, 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13.
Tours of the iconic Plaza Presbyterian space at the intersection of The Plaza, Parkwood and Mecklenburg avenues are planned during the festival, including a sound installation in the sanctuary space.
Attendees can also expect several musical performances by faculty and students, a drum circle, a musical “petting zoo” where budding musicians can give instruments a try, and art activities for all ages, including collaborative painting, screen printing, and making postcard illustrations.
The Plaza Presbyterian campus (located at 2304 The Plaza) is a great fit for a permanent home for Arts+ as it allows the nonprofit to bring elements of our core programs under one roof while still delivering programs with our hub and spoke model out into the community.
The April 13 Spring Festival will be family-friendly and free to attend. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
