Bank of America is guided by a common purpose to help make financial lives better. And, they develop strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations to improve our community. That's where the Neighborhood Builders® Signature Program comes in. On today's show, we were joined by Kieth Cockrell President, Bank of America Charlotte & Head of Global Sports Sponsorships, and recipients Carolyn Allison; Chief Executive Officer for Charlotte Community Health Clinic and Tchernavia Montgomery; Chief Executive Officer for Care Ring.

“At Bank of America, we’re guided by a common purpose to help make financial lives better” says Cockrell. He adds “we are celebrating our 20th year for The Neighborhood Builders program which allows Bank of America to help fuel economic and social progress in low and moderate-income communities. We do this by not only providing $200,000 in unrestricted grant funding over 2 years, but by also investing in the organization’s leaders themselves. We believe that our local nonprofit community is only as strong as its current and future leaders, which is why we’re committed to help strengthen the sector by investing in a year of (virtual and in-person) leadership training allowing them to develop a peer network of nonprofit leaders from across the country. In fact, our BofA Foundation just hosted the in-person portion of the leadership training here in Charlotte with 200+ Executive Directors and Emerging Leaders who were selected as recipients in 2023."

“We are proud to be recipients of the Neighborhood Builders program because it allows us to hire more staff and continue providing for so many in our community” says Allison. She adds “we take care of most of your physical and mental health care needs, including disease management, acute care, prevention, and behavioral health. Our diverse team of people, some who work at CCHC and some who work for other organizations, ensures that we meet you and your family’s needs.”

Montgomery sharing: “Care Ring is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing health services for the uninsured, underinsured or those lacking access to affordable, high-quality preventive health care. The grant allows us to continue to serve the more than 7,600 people in Mecklenburg County.”

“The need for access to quality healthcare is critical in our community and across the globe” says Cockrell. He continues “I’d just like to underscore the amazing impact Care Ring and Charlotte Community Health Clinic are having within our community. As with our other partners, they do exceptional work in making Charlotte a healthy and thriving place to live and work.” For more information visit BofA.com.
