CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some things can be closely imitated, but never quite duplicated. Film is making a comeback.
“We are the oldest camera store in the Charlotte area and I believe we’re the only place left that’s actually processing film,” Troy Tomlinson of Biggs Camera said.
The texture, grain and color of film are attracting younger people to film cameras and film photography as a whole.
“When you shoot a roll of film, there’s not that instant gratification of knowing what you’ve got,” Tomlinson said.
In an ever-changing fast pace city like Charlotte, Biggs Camera has carved out a role that’s lasted 60 years. The shop carries everything for digital and film cameras, from lenses and filters to film and rental gear.
The store aims to be helpful to all photo enthusiasts -- from professional photographers to an amateur who just picked up a camera for the first time.
Biggs Camera is located at 805 S Kings Drive in Charlotte and is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The shop also has an online presence, allowing customers to buy or rent products from its website.
