CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There are so many great restaurants in the Charlotte area, and so many great burgers, so 2019 Charlotte Burger Week is the perfect time to find a new favorite.
For just $6, you can enjoy specialty burgers at over 50 restaurants in the area. To help make your decision a little easier, NBC Charlotte's Hannah Welker tried burgers at three participating restaurants. For research purposes, only, of course.
The first stop was Old Pineville Premium Pub. All of their burgers are homemade, pattied by hand and cooked on a flat top. Among the choices are The Light Rail and The Steakhouse, which features mushrooms, onions and swiss.
Next up was Kid Cashew. Their chef made it plain that if you're looking for a great burger, they should be your first stop.
"They're the best in town, come get it," he said. "Because I cooked them."
Kid Cashew's burgers are cooked over an open flame using charcoal and Hickory wood.
Finally, we tried Big Ben Pub in South End. They are serving up a barbecue burger and one on an English muffin, because well, why not? What's not to love about that?
