FORT MILL, S.C. — Right away, 10-year-old Greyson, a Make-A-Wish kid, knew what kind of haircut he wanted inside a Fort Mill Sport Clips: "Buzz cut, No. 2."
With that, chunks of hair started falling to the ground and the sounds of a clipper filled the shop.
"This feels really good," said Greyson. "I'm not as hot, and it feels good when I touch it."
Greyson's wish started to come true Monday. He chose a tropical paradise vacation with his family after talking with his buddies about overseas trips.
"He's finishing up chemotherapy treatments. He'll finish up in September," said Greyson's mom, Betsy Gload. "We're good."
Gload said the family is taking each day at a time. Her son has battled brain cancer for 2 years. She said her little boy is tough.
For Greyson, having his family and friends surround him with cake and BBQ chips make the moment at that more special.
"I'm so happy they did this for me," he said.
The family will fly to the Caribbean in the coming days.
Make-A-Wish partnered with SportsClips to raise close to $100,000 over the past 5 years.
