CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For over 58 years, Morris Costumes has been Halloween Headquarters for Charlotte and the Carolinas. Morris is also known nationwide for their selection of costumes and accessories. In fact, Morris Costumes is the world’s largest costume distributor.
Their motto is “If you’re looking for Halloween….look at Morris.”
Greg James is a longtime employee and can be affectionately called “Mr. Halloween” for his knowledge of the Halloween industry.
“If it’s Halloween, we have it,” James said.
That includes every costume imaginable, plus masks, decorations, party supplies, and haunted house special effects.
Morris Costumes actually serves the worldwide Halloween industry, the haunted house industry, plus the film and movie industries. The shop also services many other industries that require masks, costumes, wigs, and props. James said the demand from other industries makes them an even larger supplier for the general public.
Animatronics have become very popular for Halloween, and can be found haunting Morris Costumes. These are the puppets and other figures that are animated and run on batteries or plug-in. They come with their own “voices” and special effects.
Some are quite large and can be used on the lawn, while others operate on the porch or in the house -- everything from witches to ghosts to wild animals to strange and bizarre creatures. Morris Costumes also has several areas where you can interact with the animatronics before purchasing them.
The whole store is part of the experience, with all the sights and sounds of Halloween.
