MATTHEWS, N.C. — A K9 officially retired from his police duties Monday night in Matthews.
The board of commissioners recognized Castor for eight years of service as a dual purpose narcotics and apprehension dog.
His badge was removed by his partner during a ceremony.
"Castor will now enjoy his well-deserved retirement with Officer Kevin Osuch and his family. We wish him many chew toys and treats in his future."
