NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A Tennessee woman's vacation pictures from North Myrtle Beach, S.C. are going viral.
Ginger Gilmer posted the photos on Facebook on June 14. In them, you can see people wading in the ocean -- unaware that sharks are swimming near them.
"Why I go to the beach to get in the pool!" she wrote. "SHARKS!!!! Not one person had an idea of what was lurking around them. Can’t see the bottom, not swimming in it!"
So far, Gilmer's post has 26,000 shares and 4,000 reactions.
There have been at least three reported shark bites off the North Carolina coast this month.
The most recent victim was an 8-year-old boy who was treated for several puncture wounds after a shark grabbed him off the coast of Bald Head Island Sunday.
