CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With a commitment for food box donations running short this year, the Charlotte Rescue Mission is asking for more help preparing Thanksgiving meals.
“We are asking one family to prepare one Thanksgiving Food box for another family", Tony Marciano, President and CEO of Charlotte Rescue Mission, said in a released statement. “Our partners will drop off the food boxes including turkey the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving at the Rescue Mission’s processing site on 645 McNinch Street.”
“We want our recipients to look back at Thanksgiving of 2023 being so special because other people cared about me. That’s what this is all about. Helping a family create memories around their own Thanksgiving table,” Marciano said.
Last year, the organization said they delivered over 6,000 food boxes, which served over 24,000 people.
