The Southern Christmas Show is returning to the Queen City. Here's what you need to know

Here are the need-to-know details for the Charlotte staple.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The 57th annual Southern Christmas Show officially kicks off Thursday in the Queen City. There are more than 400 vendors on top of other entertainment at the annual event.

Here's what you need to know.

What

Vendors come from all over the region to set up Santa's shop and many are local to the Charlotte area. From Christmas gifts to décor and boutique shopping, guests can easily spend an entire day just on shopping. The show spans the equivalent of over 11 football fields.

This year, there will be a special appearance from actress Karolyn Grimes, who many may remember for paying Zuzu Bailey in the 1946 classic film "It's a Wonderful Life." She'll be at the show the second weekend (Nov. 22 through Nov. 24). She'll be selling her cookbook, memorabilia and gifts along with meeting fans.

Where

The show is happening at the Park Expo and Conference Center, which is located at 800 Briar Creek Road in southeast Charlotte.

When

This year, the show will run from Nov. 14 to Nov. 24. Hours for this North Pole experience are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

How much

Admission is $20 for adults paying at the door, and $10 for kids ages 6 to 12. Children under the age of 5 get in for free with a paying adult. People can also buy tickets at some participating Harris Teeter stores for $16 if they use their VIC card.

How to park there

The Park Expo and Conference Center offers cash parking and valet but there are also many lots nearby, with shuttles available to the door from some. On-site parking is $10, and valet parking is $20.
