The 77th annual Thanksgiving parade will light up the Queen City as it marches through the heart of Uptown.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Multiple streets in Uptown will be closed Wednesday afternoon and evening due to the Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, officials announced Wednesday.

The 2023 Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. at the intersection of West 9th Street and North Tryon before marching south along Tryon to West Brooklyn Village Avenue.

The parade moved from its Thanksgiving to Thanksgiving Eve in 2021 as a way to officially kick off the holiday season in the Queen City.

While the parade is a free event to attend, tickets are on sale for reserved VIP seating. The VIP seating area will line Tryon Street from Levine Avenue to Brooklyn Village Avenue. Kids 2 and under are free if they'll be sitting in an adult's lap. If they need a chair, parents can reserve free kids' tickets while purchasing their seats.
