#KindnessMatters: Belk gives away over 500 gift cards

The Charlotte-based company handed out gift cards as part of #KindnessMatters, the social media movement spreading through Charlotte and beyond.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – More than 500 customers got a pretty fun shock this weekend at Belk.

The Charlotte-based company handed out gift cards as part of #KindnessMatters, the social media movement spreading through Charlotte and beyond.

Larnese Grier didn’t know what to think when the store manager at Belk approached.

“We wanted to do some random acts of kindness today at Belk,” said SouthPark Belk Manager Tiffany Correa. “This is nice and we need it around the world today with what’s going on. That’s why we’re doing it.”

Grier’s twin also got a gift card Saturday.

NBC Charlotte also took part in the giving away of gift cards.

“That’s, that’s awesome!” Grier shouted.

All we asked in return was that they turn around and do something good for someone in their community.

Shannon Krnach and her mom both got gift cards.

“It made our day and now we want to go out and do the same for someone else,” Shannon said.

Correa may have had more fun than anyone, as evident by her huge smile.

“I have goosebumps,” Correa said. “So exciting, so much fun. Makes you feel good to do something nice for somebody, especially when they don’t expect it!”
