Amtrak is offering riders a pretty sweet deal right now, but you’ll need to book soon. Amtrak is once again offering a USA Rail Pass for just $449, that's a savings of $50. However, you have to book by Jan. 25.

The pass lets riders take a multi-segment trip for one low fixed price, but there are some caveats.

The pass comes with 10 segments. A travel segment occurs whenever you board and disembark one of Amtrak’s trains. For example, if your trip involves making one connection, you will use two segments.

The pass is valid for 120 days after your purchase and once you begin your first segment, you have 30 days to complete the rest of the segments.

So if you’re looking to travel from Charlotte to Raleigh, the pass might not make sense -- but it could be useful for longer cross-country trips where you’re making a lot of stops.

Right now, the rail pass is only available for travel in coach class. Upgrades to business class and private room accommodations are not available at this time. Click here for more restrictions, or to buy a pass.
