Bossy Beulah's opens new location in South End

Bossy Beulah's, known for its no-nonsense chicken sandwiches, is opening a new location in Charlotte's South End.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Bossy Beulah's Chicken Shack announced it will open its second Charlotte location in South End this week with a special promotion for some of the first customers in line.

The first 50 guests at the new Bossy Beulah's, located at 2932 Griffith Street will receive free "Beaut" chicken sandwiches for a year. Known for its "no-nonsense chicken sandwiches," Bossy Beulah's is part of chef Jim Noble's growing group of restaurants, which includes Noble Smoke, Rooster's and the King's Kitchen.

"Our team couldn't be more thrilled to open this new location of Bossy Beulah's and we want to reward the people who help us open the doors this Thursday," Noble said. "The convenient location in South End and the expansive space will allow us to serve more people but also provide a space more conducive to gathering and staying a while."

The new location is twice the size of the original Bossy Beulah's on Freedom Drive. It has enough seating for 146 guests, including 76 on the patio. The restaurant also includes a pick-up window for walk-up, online and to-go orders.

Bossy Beulah's is a tribute to Noble's great aunt, Beulah, who often made fried chicken on Sundays after church and watched Noble and his siblings during their childhood.

Bossy Beulah's staple item is The Beaut. It includes a Joyce Farms chicken breast, Duke's mayo, house-made pickles and a Copain bun. The menu also has chicken breast bites, a spicy chicken thigh sandwich and the Bossy Salad.
