CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Another restaurant is closing its doors at Camp North End, as the owners of Bleu Barn announced Sunday will be their final day.
The owners say they can no longer afford to keep the restaurant open because of rising costs. It's the latest blow for Camp North End. Several businesses told WCNC Charlotte they're struggling to keep their doors open for similar reasons.
"They’ve made the difficult decision to close the overall business, including the food stall here at camp, and we want to make sure they are properly celebrated during their last week of operations," Camp North End posted on Instagram.
"There is just no one coming out," Wentworth & Fenn owner Samantha Ward said. "We are getting days where we will barely hit $200, and it's like, 'Oh my gosh, what is going on out there?'"
Ward said the decline in business and foot traffic has her and several other business owners concerned about the future. The owner of That's Novel said summers are often slower so she prepares throughout the year for the downturn.
"We just want people to come out and support," Ward said.
