Harris Teeter changes store closing time as COVID-19 cases decrease

Harris Teeter stores will close at 10 p.m. after the Matthews-based grocery store chain announced they would close sooner due to the omicron surge.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Harris Teeter announced that all store locations will return to old closing hours effective Wednesday, Feb. 16.

The Matthews-based grocery store changed closing time to 9 p.m. in January to focus on closing protocols to give workers extra time to restock and clean stores. The change also gave Harris Teeter the ability to process ExpressLane orders ahead of time while keeping stores organized and stocked for guests.

The company said in a statement that it looks forward to welcoming shoppers back into stores after 9 p.m. while providing excellent customer service.
