CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After 12 years in business, Letty's on Shamrock is closing up shop.
Letty Ketner, the owner of the beloved east Charlotte restaurant, announced the news on social media over the weekend. Ketner said she's made the "bittersweet decision" to embrace retirement by prioritizing her health, family, and the next chapter.
"For the past 12 years, Letty’s has been more than just a restaurant—it has been my home and my heart," she said. "From the very beginning, I dreamed of creating a place where people could gather, enjoy delicious food, and feel a true sense of community. Whether you joined us for a special celebration, a casual dinner, a beer at the bar, or were one of our treasured regulars, you became part of the Letty’s family—and you always will be."
The last day open for Letty's will be Dec. 31, and Ketner said she hopes people come get a meal during that time to celebrate the memories and relationships formed because of the restaurant.
"While this goodbye is bittersweet, it’s also a celebration of all we’ve accomplished together," Ketner said. "I am so thankful to each of you for making Letty’s the special place it has been."
