Southpark Mall files for expansion

SouthPark is home to 150 stores and is one of the premier malls in the Carolinas.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — SouthPark Mall in Charlotte is looking to add more stores. 

Simon Property Group, the owner of SouthPark, has filed for an expansion. If the plan gets approved, over 21,000 square feet will be added to the mall. Plans for the new space haven't been announced at this time.

SouthPark has over 150 stores and is one of the premier malls in the Carolinas and is home to Charlotte's only Cheesecake Factory. SouthPark has numerous designer stores, such as Tiffany & Co., Neiman Marcus, Kate Spade, Saint Laurent and Gucci. The mall most recently welcomed Omega, Aritzia and Alo Yoga this fall. 

Simon also owns Concord Mills and the Charlotte Premium Outlets in Steele Creek.
