CHARLOTTE, N.C. — No denying it’s been a hot and humid summer in Charlotte, North Carolina. With everything costing more money these days, the last thing you need is a hefty power bill as you run your air conditioner all day and night.
WCNC Charlotte is always asking "where's the money?" If you need help, reach out to WCNC Charlotte by emailing money@wcnc.com.
Thankfully the folks at The Penny Hoarder have compiled some helpful tips to beat the heat without breaking the bank:
- Go for a swim
Take advantage of public pools, lakes and spray grounds. Anywhere you can find a safe body of water. - Go to the mall
You don’t have to buy anything to enjoy the air conditioning. - Go to the library
Spend your days learning new things while keeping cool for free. - Go to the museum
Many local spots have free admission on certain days. - Go to the movies
Sure, going to the movies isn’t free, but you can get discounted tickets if you go to a matinee showing. - Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water and make sure your pets have access to it too.
