CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If you're looking to catch a cheap flight out of Charlotte, good luck!
The average ticket price for a flight at Charlotte Douglas International Airport is $458, according to data collected by the nonprofit CivMetrics.
That $458 price point puts Charlotte No. 8 on the list for most expensive among the 100 busiest airports nationwide. And it's not just Charlotte that's costing travelers a pretty penny. It's expensive to fly just about anywhere in the Carolinas.
Greenville-Spartanburg is ranked No. 4 with an average ticket price of $493. Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro is No. 6 on the list at $477.
On the flip side, just one airport in the Carolinas is among the most affordable airports among the 100 busiest in the U.S. Myrtle Beach International's average ticket price is just $240.
