These are the top highest-paying jobs for college graduates

For those looking for a job, or even kids trying to figure out what to major in, a new list may help you out.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With the mantra "new year, new me," WCNC Charlotte is helping you get ahead in 2024.

For those looking for a job, or even kids trying to figure out what to major in, a new list may help you out.

Research conducted by the QR code generator QRFY led to the company putting together a list of what industries have the highest median annual wages.

With the highest median annual wages of $97,000, engineeringgraduates working in the industry have the most lucrative degrees. The data shows people with engineering degrees are earning 54% more than the average graduate.

Computer and information technology (IT) graduates are the second-highest earners, with a median annual salary of $90,000. Those in these fields are earning 43% more than the average graduate.

The third highest-earning industry for graduates is transportation, with the median salary at $82,000 earning 30% more than the average graduate. 

A spokesperson from QRFY says “With the majority of the top ten industries in the rankings being math-based and science-based, it shows how it is most profitable for students to major in these subjects."
