The home, which was recently renovated in 2016, sits on 5.41 acres and is privately gated. It features many extravagant features like a waterfall and a koi pond.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If you were hoping to buy a Mediterranean, Florida-style estate in the Charlotte area, you're out of luck. It's off the market now.

The highest sale price property in Charlotte market history closed Wednesday morning for the cool prices of $8.4 million. Don't worry, it included all of its one-of-a-kind furniture. It beat the previous record sale by $800,000, which was a 18th century-style chateau in the Quail Hollow neighborhood of southeast Charlotte.

The previous owner of this record-breaking home, Charlotte Checkers buyer Michael Kahn, put the nearly 13,000-square-foot property, which is located in a gated community at Greenwood on Providence Road, on the market for just under $7.9 million. He had purchased it in 2013 for nearly $2 million. The recent buyer is being kept anonymous at this time.
