CHARLOTTE, N.C. — With Memorial Day weekend comes the promise of big savings.
Historically, this weekend has been a big one for all kinds of sales and this year is no different.
As inflation continues to shrink purchase power, we’re all looking for ways to save. While knowing the best sales of the Memorial Day to score deals, it’s just as important what items might not be as good as they seem.
Coupon site leader RetailMeNot revealed the four things to not buy this Memorial Day weekend.
Here’s the list of items to avoid according to the experts at RetailMeNot:
1. TVs and electronics
RetailMeNot says for the best deals, wait a couple of months to make any major electronic purchases. In fact, they say you'll see far better deals during Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday in July sales.
2. Apple products
Hold off for a few months to save on a new iPad or MacBook. The recommendation is to wait until the back-to-school season to get a truly great deal.
3. Summer apparel
While you'll see many stores promising savings on summer styles this weekend, RetialMeNot says the best sales won't happen until the end of the season.
4. Outdoor grills
RetailMeNot says you'll also have to wait until the end of the season, to get the best deals on grills. The recommendation is to wait until Labor Day to purchase, which could save you upwards of 50%.
