German company chooses Iredell County for its new American headquarters.

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A German electrical engineering and manufacturing company has chosen to open its American headquarters in Iredell County.

DEHN Inc.'s new location will create 195 jobs for the area which are expected to pay an average of $66,120 which is slightly higher than the current average of $63,674 in the county.

According to North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, the company's investment totals around $38.6 million to Mooresville, North Carolina, and the facility will include production, research and training capabilities.

"North Carolina’s global reputation as the best state for business continues to attract exceptional international companies like DEHN to places like Iredell County,” Cooper said. “The industries of the future know they will find talented workers and the worker training and support systems necessary for success when they select North Carolina as their next business location.”

The North Carolina Department of Commerce helped support the state's efforts in recruiting DEHN to the area.

“North Carolina’s diverse and skilled talent continues to beat out the competition on the global stage,” North Carolina Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders said. “We do not take for granted the importance of a strong, well-trained workforce – and expanding and strengthening our workforce to meet in-demand jobs, for today and in the future, remains our top priority.”

DEHN Inc. was awarded a Job Development Investment Grant, which allows the potential reimbursement up to $1.17M over the course of 12 years. However, an analysis showed DEHN coming to Mooresville could generate a revenue as high as $523 million in that same amount of time.

It is unknown at this time when the facility will open.
