US News Money broke down some of the best times of the year to shop in 2024, and a lot of these tips make sense. For example, buy winter clothes in the summer, when the demand for them is not as high.
But let’s look at some other tips you might not have known:
March
US News Money says people should consider buying outdoor apparel for warmer weather. As we enter the warmer months, expect retailers to offer steep discounts on outdoor running apparel and footwear. Camping gear and patio furnishings will also likely go on sale around this time. And right before Easter, many stores will be filled with sales. And finally, be sure to check the candy aisle the day after Easter. most of the Easter candy and baskets will be on sale.
May
Mother's Day is May 12 this year, so US News Money says a few weeks before, you'll start to see sales on jewelry, perfume and other popular Mother's Day gifts. This is also a great month to purchase appliances. During the Memorial Day holiday weekend, many stores will have great discounts on household items like refrigerators, washers and dryers and other large appliances.
July
US News Money says this is a great month to buy furniture. During the 4th of July holiday, a lot of stores will put furniture on sale, so if you’re looking to spruce up your dining room table, maybe wait until July to make any big purchases. This is also a great month to buy tech; US News Money says during July you have 4th of July sales, back-to-school shopping, and Amazon Prime Day. All of these will include great deals on smart home devices, gaming systems, TVs and computers.
