CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Super Bowl is less than a week away and whether you’re tuning in for the game, the food, or Taylor Swift, a study from digital marketing agency Digital Third Coast shows most Americans are expected to spend more than $100 this Sunday.
With some people asking where’s the money, WCNC Charlotte is highlighting where most people are expected to spend.

The Digital Third Coast study shows most Americans are expected to spend at least $105 on Super Bowl food, drinks, and decorations. And if you’re hosting a party this year? You’ll likely spend even more.
Sports betting website NCSharp said while most Americans plan to watch the Super Bowl this year, more than 70% of those will watch the game at home. Only 15% said they plan to host a party. But if you do, experts said you’ll likely spend about $90 more than those not hosting.
According to the American Gaming Association, nearly 68 million Americans, or about one in four, plan to bet on the game this year. That’s 35% higher than last year.
NCSharp said the average person plans to spend about $110 doing so.
The top bets Americans will make are on:
- The final score.
- Player performance.
- The half-time score.
