Target re-opens child car seat trade-in program at some Charlotte-area stores

If you bring an old, expired, or damaged car seat for recycling, you'll get a 20% off coupon for a new seat, stroller, or select baby gear.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Parents, if you need to recycle your child's old car seat, Target has an opportunity for you.

From April 16-29, Target customers can take their old, expired, or damaged car seats to many stores to receive a 20% off coupon for a new car seat. The coupon, which can be redeemed through May 23, 2023, can also be used for a discount on a new stroller or select baby gear.

The coupon can be used via the Target app or through Target's Circle rewards program online.

Target's online store finder to shows which stores in the Charlotte metro area are participating. As of publication, these three locations are listed as participating:

  • Target at 1900 Springsteen Road in Rock Hill, South Carolina
  • Target at 594 River Highway in Mooresville, North Carolina
  • Target at 1910 Catawba Valley Boulevard Southeast in Hickory, North Carolina

Target says the program enables guests to have more access to sustainable choices and meet commitments to eliminate waste through the Target Forward initiative.
