CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have taken a man into custody after an overnight standoff in northwest Mecklenburg County.
CMPD said officers were called to the 11200 block of Pointer Ridge Drive in reference to a male suspect that had outstanding warrants from another county.
Upon arrival the male suspect barricaded himself inside of the residence and refused commands to come out.
CMPD said members of the SWAT Team were called to the scene and set up a perimeter. At 3:45 a.m., the SWAT Team entered the residence and took the male suspect into custody without further incident.
The suspect is currently being transported by officers to be interviewed. The man was wanted for murder in Halifax County.
