CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools continued its effort to crack down on bullying Friday. The district announced a new way for students and staff to anonymously report incidents.
CMS said they deal with the issue daily. Already this school year, there have been nearly 500 reports of bullying. Officials said the new technology will make it easier for students to stand up and speak out.
“It’s an anonymous bullying reporting tool that’s now available across the district to every student and staff member.”
CMS launched the new website to make it easier for students to report bullying online. Students can fill out a document giving specifics of a bullying incident. They can even attach a photo or video as proof -- all while remaining anonymous.
“From their a person at the school site or the CMS department will investigate the allegations.”
Not only is this website for students to report bullying, employees can use it too. The superintendent says this ensures they are working in an inclusive environment.
