Volunteers needed in west Charlotte on October 4 for Live United Day

Work on various projects focused on beautification and clean-up within neighborhoods, weatherization of resident homes, and packing supply kits for neighbors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has teamed up with the United Way of Greater Charlotte for Live United Days and volunteers are needed to help work on projects throughout the area.

Live United Days are projects identified by residents and led by that community. United Way and WCNC Charlotte support each community by finding volunteers to participate and bring residents’ visions to life.

Register here to volunteer

A Live United Day will take place Friday, October 4 from 9 am to 1 pm in the Renaissance West community.  Volunteers will work on various projects including community clean-up, landscaping, and packing supply kits for neighborhood partner agencies. The United Way says agencies will also be onsite with booths for residents to learn more about the resources available to them and for volunteers to discover opportunities to engage deeper.  Anyone interested in volunteering can register here to participate.

And the final Live United Day of 2024 will take place in the Gier Heights community on Saturday, December 14 from 9 am to 1pm.

Get ready for the season of giving and join us as we support "Health for the Holidays," a Grier Heights community event with on-site health resources and screenings, vaccines, food trucks, giveaways, and much more! Volunteers will help with event set-up and take-down, distributing resources, gifts, and goodie bags, and facilitating activities while actively contributing to improving health outcomes for neighborhood residents.  Anyone interested in volunteering can register here to participate.
